There are new bragging rights in southwest Houston. Engine 68 and Engine
73 were training their New Entry Firefighters (NEFF) on the first phase performance
standard, “Catching the Hydrant”. Engine 68 takes great pride
in the firefighting crew and FTO Captain Harris is very proud of the A shift
at Station 68. Captain Harris has had his NEFF practice this performance
standard several times. On February 5th, Engine 73’s NEFF was
able to beat the times of Engine 68”s NEFF. FTO Captain James Graves
was very proud of his NEFF and Station 68 should be baking a cake for Station
73,
A Shift.
The are two questions that must be answered: “How did this happen?” and “Will Station 73 eat the cake Station 68 bakes for them?” Tune in later for the answers.
